Here is the agenda for the VT DKE 80th Reunion on Friday, November 5th to Sunday November 7th. Get excited!

 

Friday

  • 8am to 3pm - Hiking to Dragons Tooth (Optional). [Note: this is a strenuous hike and participants must be physically fit) (sign up required) [if interested and have not already received details please contact John Walker at walkerja40@gmail.com] Meet at The Inn main lobby at 8am for carpooling/transportation to hike departure point.

  • 1 pm to 4 pm - DKE Golfing (Optional) at the VT 9 hole course adjacent to Inn at VT (sign up required and 24 players ready to hit links) [If you have signed up and haven’t already been notified, please contact Bob Dreelin at rdreelin@aol.com for more information]

  • 4 pm - 7:30 Welcome Reception and Full-Blown Tailgate food and drink event set up adjacent to lobby in outside lawn. Hokie Game attire.

  • 7:30 pm - VT-BC Football Game Watch Party in Latham Ballroom at The Inn on a mega projector screen.

  • Halftime – VT-DKE Alumni Recognition Awards Presentation

  • Post Game to Late - DKE House After-Hours Fine Drink. [Transportation to and from Inn at VT, provided by Inn courtesy bus up to midnight]

Saturday

  • 10:15 am to 11:00 am - VT-DKE Alumni Association Annual Meeting (and Election) – VT Alumni Center.

  • 11:15 am to 12:00 pm - VT Presentation – VT Campus Master Plan - @ VT Alumni Center Assembly Hall

  • 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm - BUFFET LUNCHEON set up for us (alumni only) at The Inn. Lunch served starting at Noon.

  • 1:00 pm - Guest Speaker past VT DKE President, Charlie Phlegar, VT Vice President for Advancement

  • 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm- Buses leave from The Inn for various GUIDED TOURS of

    • 2:00 pm - Campus tour of new buildings, then

    • 3:00 pm - VT Sports Tours including the Hahn-Hurst Basketball Facility and Football Indoor Practice Facility, Lane Stadium

    • for DKE House Open House, drop off and get extended personalized tours of DKE House by current students/residents.

    • These tours will be optional, maximum capacity of 36 people each, lasting about 90 minutes each and based on advanced sign ups at lunch time. [Priority of campus/sports tour is for alumni].

  • 6:00 pm - REUNION GRAND RECEPTION in the Latham Ballroom at the Inn. Ticketed Bar and passed Hors D’oeuvres during social time. Enjoy whatever memorabilia guys have brought to share. [Bring something to display!] Dress code - ‘smart casual’

  • 7:30 pm - REUNION DINNER Served from Carving Stations and decorative Food Tables. After-dinner ‘program’ of informal presentations. Fun! Renew friendships! Roast one another! Share stories new and old!

Sunday

  • 9:00 to Noon - DKE HOUSE Breakfast and Tours - stop by any time after 9 am and enjoy a casual visit (or view damages from weekend) and tours of the DKE House in morning: Coffee, and Carol Lee donuts provided.
